Bingus: REQUIEM
Introduction
In Bingus: REQUIEM, you play as an AI, created by a mysterious, malevolent being, programmed with only one protocol... to control the population of small, plant-like alien creatures only known as "Bingus". Your aim is is to keep the population within a certain threshold for as long as you can, using the tools given to you to aid in your task.
Mechanics/ Controls
- Click-and-Drag/WASD - Move around the map
- LMB - Select/Use weapon
- Mouse Wheel - Zoom
- ESC - pause game
The tools at your disposal:
- Bombs: Have too many Bingus in one place? Blow 'em up!
- Laser: More controlled than the bomb, but can still wipe out plenty of Bingus.
- Homes: Homes increase the population of Bingus. Don't want them dying out, now!
- Food Stalls: Bingus have to eat...and so do your weapons (they cost food)
- Fire: When all else fails, burn it (the buildings) all down.
Every tool at your disposal requires food to use- better not run out...
Also, Bingus are living their own lives, and may incur strange random events, so be ready!
Story
For many years, the Bingus lived in harmony- a heavily populated planet, but still peaceful. That is, until Purge-a-Tron (you) appeared in the sky one day. Without knowledge as to why, or even what the task given is meant to accomplish, but those that own Purge-a-Tron were clear- destroy, but only so much that the population of this planet doesn't get out of control. The only problem is, the Purge-a-Tron has only been given limited tools, and can only do so much for so long. Will you meet the expectation of this strange entity, or will you, as they say, "fail yet again"?

Post-Game Jam changes:
After listening to feedback (thank you for sharing it!), we already have some changes we plan to implement as soon as we can after the Game Jam ends. Some of these include:
- A tutorial that better explains how the game and mechanics work, and better express the object of the game
- Houses will be more directly linked with population growth versus simply modifying the global growth rate (this will also allow the potential to still lose from underpopulation in the late game. This will also allow much longer runs to be possible.)
- Balancing events to be more frequent early game (and potentially even faster late game...)
- Adventure mode- as you go about controlling the population, you get hacked by the Bingus, used as a weapon against the overlords.
- PvP or PvC: Take the role of either population expander or population destroyer in a one on one, tug-of-war style match.
And more!

Adorable bingus! Love the art-style and music the most. The concept is super fun and I cant wait to see where else this idea goes. Wonderful job.
Silly little binguses kept overpopulating. Those jerks!
Interesting take on the theme. I liked the game. Liked the Voiceacting to it. Played a few to times to try and get it. Was a little confusing at first, but could just be skill issue. Def build more food first. Seem to help the run go longer. Really nice art direction! Great job on handling different events and stuff. Enjoyed it! Well done.
Great game!
